There are a great many sites on the net that I could recommend, but some I can't recall right now and I'm sure lots I dont know about. For now I will just heads up the ones that spring to mind right now, but please put a message on the message board telling us about your site, or e mail me, and I could add it to this page.

I have started a podmatic space called: www.mrsoundtapes.podmatic.com

right now there is just one tape there that I put up to test it out and I've had no feedback yet, but I hope to build that up with mixes, radio show type things with commentary and more tapes.

I also started a site that is basically a message board with different sections: http://mrsoundtapes.proboards104.com/

The idea was to provide a place for people to trade stories, information, reviews and opinions about music, and also music itself. The board is a little quiet generally, exept for the section Uploads to downloads which sees action and has been veiwed alot. Hopefully this site will also develop.

For a few years I have enjoyed reading and contributing to the forum at Blood and Fire's site: http://www.bloodandfire.co.uk/db/viewforum.php?f=1

As any forum does its interest is not consistant but it still seems to be checked by people who know an amazing amount about music and especially all things reggae. Also has a section about buying and selling and another one where you can keep in the know about live events and club nights, dances etc. Of course there is a link to the releases put out by the excellent label itself.

Another forum is run by the currently troubled Trojan records. A label that has been doing good work for almost 40 years. The message boards are usually fairly quiet I think but again it gets visitted by very knowledgeable people if you have any questions about reggae- especially vintage sounds! The moderator there is one of the coolest gents around: http://www.trojanrecords.co.uk/forum/index.php

Chatty Mouth was set up by my mate Greedy G a while back and has grown into one of the busiest forums. Well worth a visit: http://djgreedyg.proboards77.com/

Dancehallreggae.com is doing brisk business at the moment on the upload front. People here often know alot about the old sound systems! Check the Foundation and sound system sections: http://www.dancehallreggae.com/forum/index.php

Another place to download vintage dances is the excellent: http://dancehallrevival.podomatic.com/ run by a very generous guy indeed.

Another site that I don't know how they make any money- (maybe they're just trying to ensure a place for themselves in heaven) http://www.clashes-r-us.com/home.php an excellent resource for the more current sounds of the dancehall scene.

There are a few other great podcast sites. All these are run by friends of mine who have an excellent taste in, and knowledge of reggae!

http://dancecrasher.podomatic.com/ this is run by the guys behind the excellent monthly night- Tighten Up! you can download recordings of the night here, featuring Champian (yes same one, 25 years inna the business) and Professor Mark on the mic and the wickedest rare reggae revive getting rewound!

http://houseofreggae.podomatic.com/ run by Ian, excellent shows. Check em out!

http://algoriddim.podomatic.com/ by Benja. I love these shows. How many tunes!?

Small Axe Reggae News has been around since the 1970s. It's page by Andrew Lee, and the great man hiumself, was instrumental in developing my love of sound tapes. Ray Hurford who runs the site is also a very generous and knowledgable guy: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/smallaxe/ also http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/smallaxe/Small%20Axe%20Reggae%20News%20April%202004.htm

Another great site is http://www.dancecrasher.co.uk say no more say no more!

www.soundclash.org is run by dj supremos Augie and Flex. I had a wail of a time when I guest DJ'd on their radio show, which may still be archived on their very interesting site

This is a great site which serves as a database both of releases by artists and producers and also a rhythm directory. Most importantly which cds to buy for tunes you're looking for. Run by a very cool guy who is one of the best radio djs I've heard. Working out of my favourite USA city- Chicago! http://www.algoriddim.com/

I use this site to get alot of info about records and cds: http://www.roots-archives.com/

Great if you're a geek like me and get off on looking at old labels http://jamaicanlabelart.com/ this is really well done! Another similar idea but more about being a discography is http://www.xs4all.nl/~tapirs/ -man has a job for life!

If you like reggae dvds look no further (after checking out my own dvd list) than http://www.reggaefilms.co.uk/ and the (I think) related

http://www.reggaedvds.co.uk/ both run by a very helpful and passionate friend of ours.

A good to place to buy records is http://reggaeunlimited.com/ run by the very friendly sound operator Gladdy Wax! I've bought tunes here I've seen nowhere else.

This is a blog, but I like it alot: http://v-rocket.blogspot.com/ not just about Jamaican music either, features articles on vintage music from USA as well.

It's not all about reggae. I also like African music, especially the old funky stuff. If you like more than one kind of sound on your hi fi, check http://africanserenades.co.nr/
